Bayelsa deputy gov dies after collapsing in office

    Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the deputy governor of Bayelsa State, has been confirmed dead after collapsing on Thursday afternoon.

    It was learned that he collapsed while at his office and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Yenagoa, where his death was confirmed.

    Born on September 5, 1965, Senator Ewhrudjakpo was 60 years old at the time of his passing.

    The deputy governor collapsed in serious condition before being transported to the hospital’s emergency unit, where he was pronounced dead.

    Sources revealed that he maintained a demanding work schedule over the years, describing him as a workaholic who rarely took time to rest.

    The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has confirmed his death. The Bayelsa State government had not released an official statement regarding his passing at the time of this report.
