The Benue State House of Assembly has confirmed six commissioner-nominees while rejecting two others.

The names of the nominees were submitted to the lawmakers by Governor Hyacinth Alia for confirmation.

The Assembly rejected the nominations of Dr. Yangien Ornguga and James Dwen, and subsequently urged the governor to nominate other candidates to replace them.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Chief Press Secretary to Speaker, Terver Zamber said the rejection of the two nominees was as a result of petitions against them, to which they failed to provide satisfactory responses.

Those confirmed are Theresa Odachi Ikwue, Dr. Benjamin Ashaver and Dr. Adamu Margaret Ijaguwa.

Others are Dr. Peter Oboh Egbodo, Denis Iyaighgba and Dr. Paul Ejeh Ogwuche.

The statement noted that the Speaker urged the confirmed nominees to diligently serve the people of Benue State.
