The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) has denied social media reports that it was currently carrying out a recruitment exercise for new employees.
The BPP stated this in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by Mr Thomas Odemwingie, its Head, Public Communication, and obtained by the Street Journal.
Odemwingwe said the report was the handwork of unscrupulous persons trying to take advantage of desperate job seekers and advised the public to disregard it.
“The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) and the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) is alerting the public to an announcement on online media about recruitment by the Commission for the Bureau.
“The announcement being circulated on the social media was published in August 2014 and the recruitment exercise in respect of which it was published has since been conducted,’’ the statement said.
It succinctly added: “No recruitment is currently going on, please, ignore the announcement.’’
