Breaking News: Kidnapped Journalist Released In Port-Harcourt

    Donu Kogbara, a female journalist who was kidnapped in front of her house in the Nkpogu area of Port Harcourt on Sunday, Aug. 30. has been released by her abductors.

    Mr Ahmad Muhammad, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command confirmed the development to newsmen on Saturday in Port Harcourt.

    According to him, Kogbara has reunited with her family and is in good condition, adding that the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr Musa Kimo, visited Kogbara in her family residence in Port Harcourt.

    Muhammad did not, however, confirm if any ransom was paid before the journalist was released or if any arrest was made.

    The Street Journal recalls that Kogbara who has worked for the Vanguard newspaper for about 30 years, the BBC, Channel 4, the Sunday Times and the Mail was kidnapped while on a visit to her family.
