BRT bus goes up in flames after head-on collision accident on Lagos-Abeokuta expressway (Video)

An accident has occurred in front of Conoil at Valley Estate, inward IleZik on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

The incident occurred in the morning hours of Tuesday, October 17, as it was a head-on collision between two BRT buses.

Passengers were seen leaving one of the affected buses as it went into flames.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, has confirmed the accident.

According to a post on the official X handle of LASTMA on the same Tuesday, the effect of the accident has caused minimal traffic on the lane.

In September 2023, two persons lost their lives on the same expressway, while another one sustained injuries in an accident involving a Mazda bus and a Mazda car.

The accident was said to be caused by the driver of the unregistered Mazda car who drove against traffic and had a head-on collision with the Mazda bus marked SEY 311 ZY.

The drivers of the two vehicles died while a motor boy sustained injuries.
