President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Imo State for the commissioning of some projects.
The jet carrying him landed at the Sam Mbakwe Airport in Owerri, the state capital on Thursday and was received by state officials and other dignitaries.
Recall that the state Governor, Hope Uzodinma, had announced Buhari’s visit.
He said the president would commission some significant projects while in the state.
Some pro-Biafra groups had faulted the planned visit.
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had declared a sit-at-home over Buhari’s visit, saying that the president is not welcome to the state.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said the president was visiting Imo to mock the people of the state.
