Seven Federal Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) have been sworn in by President Muhammad Buhari.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo presented the report of the Health Reform Committee right after the brief swearing-in ceremony, which took place before the final Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
Peter Okpara from Imo, Senator Ayogu Eze from Enugu, Kolade Abimbola from Oyo, Rekiya Ayuba-Haruna from Kebbi, Hauwa Aliyu from Jigawa, Ismaila Agaka from Kwara, and Ambassador Ayuba Ngako from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were among the newly sworn-in Federal Commissioners of the RMAFC.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo gave President Buhari the report of the Health Reform Committee.
The committee, which Osinbajo presided over, was formed to create a plan for the nation to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The committee’s main recommendation is to increase funding for the health sector by more than ten percent.
Also, after the Health Reform Committee Report was presented, Buhari presided over the Valedictory FEC.
All of the ministers and other members of the Cabinet were present in the Council Chambers of the State House, where the Council meeting—the last for the Buhari administration—was held.
