Fatuhu Muhammad, a nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress.
Muhammad who is one of the sons of Buhari’s elder sister, is a member of the House of Representatives.
In his resignation letter, he thanked the party for the opportunity given to him serve the interest of the people of Daura/Sandamu/Mai’Adua.
While he did not give any reason for his resignation, it may not unconnected to his failed bid to return to the lower chambers come 2023.
He was defeated with over 80 votes at the primary.
Not satisfied with the outcome of the primary, Muhammad petitioned his party over alleged replacement of delegates’ list and irregularities in the conducted primary.
He alleged that some APC stalwarts within the constituency fraudulently forged delegates’ list to favour their candidate.
He described the action of the APC chieftains as an embarrassment to the party and vowed to take lawful measures within the constitutional provisions of the party.
Perhaps the outcome of the petition didn’t turn out to be in his favour and so he therefore thought it best to resign.
Besides being a politician, Muhammad likes to obsess over his prized possessions and enjoys showing them off on social media.
