Car accident in Oyo leaves 5 dead, 1 injured

    Five people have died, one person is seriously injured and 6 people have been rescued as a result of a car crash that occured the Akobo section of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Oyo.

    The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) confirmed that the incident took place on Friday, December 6.

    According to the report, the crash was caused by a head-on collision between two commercial vehicles: a red Micra car and another vehicle, though the type of the second car was not specified.

    Also five people died, one of them critically injured, while six others were rescued without any injuries.

    The report stated that, “The Police has taken the injured victim to Metro Hospital before the arrival of Road Safety personnel while the accident vehicle has been towed to Akobo Police station.

    “In order to avoid the occurrence of accidents on the highway, the FRSC warned motorists against route violation.”

    The injured individual is now receiving treatment at Metro Hospital in Akobo, within the Lagelu Local Government Area (LGA), Oyo.
