The condition of the office, located at Mobolaji Bank Anthony way, Maryland, Lagos, has been in deplorable state, despite promises by officials to renovate the structure. In a video that went viral last week, the rain fell directly through the dilapidated roof into the open office of the fund’s department on the ground floor. The office had a lot of computers and other work accessories, and employees were seen covering them with polythene bags to save them from being damaged. The Guardian gathered that two years ago, when some board members and top executives of the Fund, paid a working visit to the edifice, Chairman, Board of Directors, NSITF, Austin Enajemo-Isire, had assured workers that the dilapidated office would be fixed. The working visit was part of efforts to assess the level of ongoing construction of the 18-storey building, whose construction began 39 years ago . Enajemo- Isire, who had expressed dismay at the deplorable state of the office environment, coupled with leaky roof, urged employees to eschew negative thoughts that are not profitable to the upliftment of the Fund. This was even as he had promised another engagement where they would strategise to achieve a better NSITF. However, two years later, the office is deteriorating further. Contacted, the Fund’s Deputy General Manager, Administration, Agboma Okoroafor, said she was in no position to speak on the matter.
