The council alleged that Sani planned to mislead the court to remain in power at all costs for self aggrandisement and not for the good or love of the organisation. IPAC, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Chinyere Kalu, urged Sani to emulate former President Goodluck Jonathan’s gracious concession of defeat for the sake of peace and stability within IPAC. Recall that on December 12, 2023, some party leaders resisted an alleged attempt by Sani to perpetuate himself in office beyond the expiration of his tenure on December 13, 2023. However, the court also directed the current IPAC Executives to continue running the council until the lawsuit is determined. Kalu questions Sani’s motives, noting that Sani initially praised the transparent election process after losing to Yusuf Dantalle by two votes, adding that the sudden decision to challenge the election outcome by filing a petition to the IPAC Election Appeal Committee raises suspicions about Sani’s intentions.
