The board of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has approved the appointment of three Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs).
This was contained in a statement by superintendent of NCS, Abdullahi Maiwada, on behalf of the service’ national public relations officer, Timi Bomodi, on Wednesday, January 4, in Abuja.
Maiwada noted that 1,490 senior officers of general duty and support staff to various ranks were also promoted, among whom was the NCS spokesperson, Timi Bomodi.
A breakdown of the appointments include ACG Greg Itotoh, ACG Festus Okun and ACG Shuaibu Ibrahim.
The newly promoted comptrollers include Musa Omale, Zanna Chiroma, Stanley Nwankwo, Ajibola Odusanya, Paul Ekpenyong, Abubakar Umar, Maureen Ajuzieogu, MO Bewaji, among others, according to Daily Nigerian.
Maiwada said that 64 deputy comptrollers were promoted to comptrollers of Customs (CCs), while 128 assistant comptrollers (ACs) were promoted to Deputy Comptrollers (DCs).
He further noted that 89 Chief Superintendents of Customs (CSCs) were promoted to Assistant Comptrollers (ACs), and 220 SCs were promoted to CSCs.
Maiwada also said that 107 Deputy Superintendents of Customs (DSCs) were promoted to Superintendents of Customs (SCs), while 302 Assistant Superintendents of Customs I (ASC I) were promoted to DSCs.
He added that 223 ASC II were promoted to ASC I, and 357 Inspectors of Customs (ICs) were promoted to ASC II.
Maiwada added that the comptroller-general of NCS, Hameed Ali, congratulated the newly appointed and promoted officers.
He said that Ali charged them to increase their efforts in ensuring that the service achieved its goals.
