Dapo Olorunyomi, the publisher of Premium Times newspaper and founder, Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development has been selected for this year’s Poynters Media Transformation Challenge, MTC programme.
This will be the first time an African will be selected to join the programme as a fellow since the Institute began its MTC fellowship programme 17 years ago.
Olorunyomi, an investigative journalist, joins 26 other highly diverse senior media executives chosen for the Media Transformation Challenge program.
The 2023 Fellows represent some of the biggest media brands in the world, including ABC News, The Associated Press, BBC, CNN and Los Angeles Times, as well as leading-edge nonprofit news organizations testing new audience approaches and business models.
Fellows began the MTC program on January 9, 2023, with coaching staff who will bring extensive experience in developing for-profit and nonprofit journalism business models and mentoring.
The MTC Program of the Poynter Institute, is a yearlong fellowship and leadership program designed for senior news executives to enable them identify and pursue the most significant business performance challenge they face and deliver real results with help from MTC’s trademark tools, concepts, coaches, peer group, and alumni network.
