IN July 2020, foremost Nigerian entertainer, D’Banj was accused of raping a young lady, Seyitan Babatayo. His accusations came after the singer joined the campaign against sexual violence and demanded justice for rape victims in a post on his Instagram page. A talent/model scout, Benjamin Ese, had taken to Twitter to allege that Dbanj raped Babatayo two years ago. Ese claimed that Dbanj offered Babatayo money in exchange for sex, and she refused. After weeks of silence, the ‘Fall in Love’ singer reacted saying the allegations were ‘lies from the pit of hell’. The scandalous allegation led to inviting the police with the IG also demanding an investigation into the case. After weeks of back and forth and Twitter fights, Babatayo and D’Banj entered a private non-monetary agreement and the case was settled.
