A Nigerian woman, Nihinlolawa Agoro, and two of her children, Temiloluwa and Isaac, on Sunday, March 15, were killed in a deadly crash in Texas, United States (U.S), while several others were hospitalised with injuries.
According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office (FBCSO), deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on US-90A between Harlem Road and Pitts Road at about 9 a.m.
Officials said an SUV carrying five occupants was travelling eastbound when a truck heading westbound crossed the median, lost control, and collided head-on with the SUV.
Authorities added that the truck rolled over and caught fire following the impact.
Three occupants of the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene, including Agoro and two others.
The truck driver, a 20-year-old, and two children from the SUV were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators are working to determine whether alcohol played a role in the crash.
The sheriff’s office said it believes the victims were on their way to church at the time of the accident, based on their clothing.
A family member, Lola Oni, also confirmed the incident in a Facebook post.
