The ladies’ excellent performance at the ongoing 21st National Sports Festival has seen them beating four states without conceding on the road to the semifinal. On Day 1 of their event, the team, led by Coach Tina Azomani, thrashed Nasarawa 3-0 and defeated Kaduna 3-0 in their second match. They handed a 3-0 defeat to Anambra on Day 3 of their competition before hammering Oyo 3-0 in their next game. Coach Tina Azomani said Delta Women volleyball squad prepared well for Delta 2022 National Sports Festival. She attributes the success to the support from the Sports Commission, led by Chief Tonobok Okowa. Meanwhile, Team Ogun, on Wednesday, defeated Delta men’s team 3-1 to qualify for the semifinals.
