*Asks Nigerians To Pray For Buhari, Other Leaders On National Problems
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Yakubu Dogara on Sunday stormed the Durumi branch of the Winners Chapel, Abuja in appreciation of the divine touch to his emergence as Speaker.
Dogara, accompanied by his wife and some members of the House of Representatives mounted the pulpit shortly after the service of the day commenced, and told the congregation that he became the Speaker courtesy of God’s favour and blessings he has been receiving from the Church.
Dogara, a committed member of the Winners Chapel was not originally favoured to be Speaker, as attention was initially focused on his main co-contestant, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila.
He said the messages he has been receiving from the Winners Chapel, indeed, prepared him for leadership, attributing his emergence as Speaker to a divine favour.
He also expressed appreciation to God on every stage of the success he has attained in life, recalling the he has been enjoying the favours of God such that he made attainments without much struggles.
Promising to do his best not to disappoint the Church and Nigerians, the Speaker asked every Nigerian to commit themselves to prayers for the problems of Nigeria to get solution.
He also asked Nigerians to continue to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari and others he had appointed to work with him in the interest of peace and progress of Nigeria.
According to him, situation in Nigeria requires special prayers and wisdom on the part of the leadership because the problems confronting it are no longer conventional.
He said, “The problems we have in Nigeria are getting complex and they require wisdom to get solved. I will ask you all to continue to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari and others who work with him.
“The government needs prayers to bring solution to the problems of confronting the country which are no longer conventional.
Dogara expressed appreciation to the Commission of the Winners Chapel for the support it had thrown behind him and over the inspiration he had received from it.
He said by the support of the Almighty God and members of the Church through spiritual backing, he will not fail in the new task of leading the House of Representatives.
The presiding minister, Pastor john Adelekan has asked the church to pray for success of the Speaker of the House of Representatives being a member of the Church, reminding the congregation of the promises God made to them that giants will emerge from within the Church
