The governor of Ebonyi state, Dave Umahi, has suspended Collins Eze, his special assistant on technical affairs, over gross misconduct.

In a statement released on Tuesday, December 27, Kenneth Igwe, the secretary to the state government, stated that the suspension is indefinite, The Guardian reports.

“As a direct consequence of this indefinite suspension, the governor has approved the cancellation and withdrawal of the honours award recently given to Eze by the state government,” the statement reads.

“Eze is directed to hand over all government property in his possession to the secretary to the state government and coordinating commissioner before the close of work on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.”

Recall that Umahi, in 2019, sacked Ndubuisi Itumo, his technical assistant on social media, for misleading the public.

Also, the governor in 2019, sacked Emmanuel Uzor, his chief press secretary (CPS), over a controversial statement on the proposed National Livestock Transformation Programme (NLTP).
