Two fuel stations in Lagos are to face stiff sanctions for sabotaging the economy by frustrating the efforts of the Federal Government to ensure that the fuel scarcity is brought to an end.
At the NIPCO fuel station along the Lekki-Ajah expressway staff were caught with countless jerry cans. The Executive Director, Commercial of the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), Engr Komolafe who paid a surprise visit to the station on Saturday also discovered that the station had more than 15,000 litres of petrol in its tank which remained unsold until the EDC’s visit.
Engineer Komolafe immediately ordered that the hoarded product should be sold. He also instructed that the Directorate of Petroleum Resources (DPR) should take charge.
Another fuel station also on the same Lekki-Ajah expressway was found to be selling petrol above the normal pump price.

treet Journal’s correspondents have found out that queues are fast disappearing at filling stations. It is also being established that the scarcity of fuel being experienced in most parts of the country is largely artificial, caused by hoarding.
