Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has had his social media accounts suspended following the release of his new song Open Letter to Donald Trump.
Abdulkareem confirmed that his Facebook and Instagram accounts were suspended by Meta, stating that he has been blocked from accessing both accounts since the song’s release.
“Facebook just suspended my Facebook and Instagram accounts because of my new song, Open Letter to Donald Trump.
“I can’t access it,” he said.
The song, released in November 2025 under Abdulkareem’s label, Lakreem Entertainment, is framed as a letter to the United States president but primarily criticizes Nigeria’s political elite.
Abdulkareem accuses Nigerian leaders of enriching themselves while ordinary citizens endure widespread insecurity, kidnappings, terrorism, and economic hardship.
The rapper used the song to symbolically appeal for international intervention.
“Let’s support Donald Trump to wipe out all these evil terrorists.
“Let’s support Donald Trump to wipe out the sponsors of terrorism.
“Let’s support Donald Trump to sanction all generals backing terrorism.
“Let’s support Donald Trump to sanction politicians supporting terrorism,” he sang.
He emphasized that the government who gave terrorists amnesty and gave Nnamdi Kanu life improsonment has no moral authority to accuse foreign power of interference.
Abdulkareem’s activism through music is not new as his 2004 hit song Jaga Jaga openly criticized the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo for corruption and misgovernance.
His song, Tell Your Papa which highlighted economic hardship and insecurity directed to Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu,was banned earlier in April by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
Over the years, he has consistently used his music to highlight social issues, making him one of Nigeria’s most politically conscious musicians.
