About 10 officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have been arrested for stealing operational items at it’s Lagos office.
The agency revealed this on it’s social media platform X on Wednesday, January 8.
The statement read, “10 officers of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are being detained over investigation of some missing items involving them.
“The officers, who were arrested last week on the directives of the Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, are answering questions related to the theft of some operational items that they could not account for.”
The agency mentioned that investigators are making significant progress and that anyone found responsible will face internal disciplinary actions.
The EFCC added that this step is part of its ongoing efforts to eliminate corrupt practices within the agency.
