The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says its operatives have arrested 18 internet fraudsters in the Kurudu region of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The anti-graft’s agency spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, while confirming the arrest, on Thursday, July 21, stated that the internet fraudsters were arrested on Tuesday, July 19, at Army state phase five, Kurudu, Abuja, following intelligence reports received by the anti-graft’s agency about their involvement in internet-related fraud.
Uwujaren identified the names of the arrested persons as Innocent Samson, Obiora Eze, Ifeanyi Joseph, Isdore Chinedu, Badaki Linus, Ameh Nick, Kelvin Chima, Akwa Iwu Promise Ifeanyi, Adekunle Samuel.
Others are Abutu John, Testimony Mathiew, Omale Mary Ochanya (female), Afarm Darlington Edwin, Henry John, Urochukwu Abel, Ogieto Gift, Innocent Gideon, Ojimini Maduemyi Raymond, Mathiew Timothy, and Kingsley Chukwuemeka, according to the commission’s spokesperson.
Uwujaren further noted that items recovered from the internet fraudsters include three cars, namely, a Lexus RX 350, Lexus ES 350 and Peugeot 306, a motor bike, six laptop computers, and mobile phones.
