Former Anambra State governor and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Abuja.
The development was disclosed in a statement released on Wednesday night by his former media aide, Fred Chukwulobe.
Chukwulobe dismissed online claims suggesting that Ngige had been abducted, clarifying the nature of the situation.
He said, “Former Governor of Anambra State and immediate past minister of labour and employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, is with the EFCC. More details later.”
Ngige recently made headlines after his convoy came under attack by armed men in Anambra State. He was not in the vehicle during the incident.
