Elon Musk denied allegation on Friday 20th May, that he groped and exposed himself to a flight attendant six years ago.
“Those wild accusations are utterly untrue ,” the world’s wealthiest person wrote on Twitter, the platform he is currently in the halted process of buying for $44 billion.
Musk’s rocket company SpaceX paid a woman $250,000 to settle a misconduct lawsuit against him in 2018, according to news source Insider.
According to the allegation, Musk exposed his erect penis to the woman on a ride on a private jet to London, caressed her leg without consent, and requested her to perform a sex act while receiving a massage from her.
It cited a woman who claimed to be a friend of the flight attendant.
“The attacks against me should be viewed through a political lens – this is their standard (despicable) playbook,” Musk tweeted on Friday.
He did not specify who “their” referred to, but added: “I have a challenge to this liar who claims their friend saw me ‘exposed’ – describe just one thing, anything at all (scars, tattoos, …) that isn’t known by the public. She won’t be able to do so, because it never happened.”
“Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold …” he added.
The South African-born businessman, who holds US, Canadian, and South African citizenship, had previously stated that he would convert his allegiance from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party.
Musk, whose estimated net worth is $265 billion, placed his offer to buy Twitter on hold this week, stating he would not move unless he had proof of the platform’s spam problem.
Musk is most known as the founder of electric vehicle business Tesla, as well as his prolific tweeting, on-again, off-again romance with pop sensation Grimes, substantial wealth, and SpaceX endeavors.
By building a colony on Mars, he hopes to turn humans into a “interplanetary species.”
Musk has also made less favourable headlines, as Tesla has been sued for discrimination and harassment against Black employees, as well as sexual harassment.
