In a large bowl, mix bread crumbs, parsley, parmesan, egg, garlic, salt, red pepper flakes and combine thoroughly then combine into balls. Boil some water in a pot on medium heat. Put in the meatballs and cook turning occasionally until it turns brown on all sides. Then move to a plate. In the same pot, cook until soft and add crushed tomatoes and bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper and allow to simmer. Place the meatballs into the pot and cover. Leave to simmer until the sauce thickens for about 8-10 minutes.
