The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has clarified the circumstances surrounding the arrest and arraignment of Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, brother to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
Regina had earlier claimed that her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko, used his influence and power to order the Nigerian police force to arrest her brother.
In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, on Friday, she said Sammy West was arrested following a petition filed on October 28, 2025, alleging criminal conspiracy and other offences.
Adeh explained that despite several invitations for questioning by the command, Sammy West failed to appear, prompting his arrest in Lagos through a court-issued warrant and was later transferred to Abuja for further investigation.
“Upon conclusion of investigations, the suspect was on November 6, 2025, charged to court for offences bordering on criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, and theft,” she said.
She added that the accused has been remanded in prison custody pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions.
Adeh reaffirmed the command’s commitment to professional policing, adherence to due process, and the rule of law.
