Omotayo Sanusi, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo, on Monday, January 26, accused him of deploying 20 armed men to evict her from her own restaurant, Iyan Aladuke.
Omotayo revealed that Femi visited their son’s school on Wednesday for a photo opportunity after a year of absence, only to have the eviction carried out on Friday, followed by a carefully timed media release in a newspaper.
“What did you expect when you took almost 20 armed men to a public place to evict people?
“Of course, the news would spread! you started it, keep fueling.
“My aged mother was thrown out with a gun, knowing fully well she’ll be there as she comes around to help me with my child!.
“Who are you to talk to me about God! you don’t know God! you only put up the act,” she said.
The entrepreneur, who announced the temporary closure of her restaurant on Saturday due to circumstances beyond her control, stated she had remained silent for a year following previous false accusations, but can no longer stay quiet as attempts are made to damage her reputation.
“You always want to silence me by targeting my reputation.
“I’m done keeping quiet! you can’t silence me anymore!.
“The desperation to save your name, you don’t care who goes down!, I’m not going down with your lies!” she added.
In response to the allegations, a family member of Femi Adebayo, identified as Taiwo Abdulmalik, said the eviction was the result of a bank recovery process, not a deliberate action by the actor.
According to Taiwo, the property was purchased through a bank loan, and foreclosure proceedings began after repayment issues arose.
She claims Omotayo was aware of the loan arrangement months before the eviction, adding that Femi immediately relocated Sanusi, her family members, and staff to a short-let apartment at his expense.
Taiwo further claimed that in 2022, Femi purchased land adjacent to Omotayo’s restaurant and registered it in her name as a backup investment, which she later sold.
The family member also stated that Femi spent approximately $50,000 on medical treatment for their son in India last year and continues to provide monthly upkeep.
