The Accountant General of the Federation’s Office (OAGF) has announced the suspension of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) for Federal Tertiary Institutions (FTIs).
This development comes after the Federal Government’s authorization to remove FTIs from the IPPIS platform.
Awa Mokwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the OAGF, revealed this, explaining, “It was only logical to shut down the IPPIS platform for FTIs, considering the federal government’s directive to remove these institutions from the system.”
He also stated that November salaries for FTIs will be processed using the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS).
Institutions must prepare their payroll in Excel format and submit it to IPPIS for verification and validation.
In response to concerns regarding modifications to salary account information, the OAGF released a statement confirming that no instructions have been issued for employees to alter the financial institutions associated with their IPPIS accounts.
The statement emphasized the importance of workers’ welfare and assured that no confusing or panic-inducing directives would be issued.
The OAGF clarified that any modifications to salary accounts are solely the personal choice of each employee, and that the IPPIS office has not required any such changes.
The OAGF encouraged financial institutions to enhance their operations and ensure effective management of accounts that contain workers’ salaries. The office expressed confidence in the regulatory agencies tasked with monitoring the health and stability of financial institutions, affirming their ability to carry out their responsibilities.
Employees who have valid reasons to change their salary accounts were encouraged to adhere to the official procedusre outlined by the OAGF, ensuring a seamless transition without interruptions to their payroll.
