The Ministry of Solid Minerals Development on Tuesday, January 7, unveiled a new TV drama series titled Hidden Riches, which aims to offer a unique perspective on the complexities and untapped potential of Nigeria’s mining sector.
Segun Tomori, the Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, shared in a statement that the drama, produced by Take 7 Media and directed by Bem Pever and Nwamaka Chikezie, will premiere on January 25 at 8:05 p.m. and air every Saturday on the Network Service of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA.
The series, which stars Sydney Diala, Lara Owoeye-Wise, Iveren Antiev, and Alex Jibrin, promises to delve into the intricate dynamics of politics, power, and ambition surrounding the country’s vast mineral resources.
The plot weaves the lives of miners, politicians, activists, and ordinary citizens, exploring the challenges and opportunities involved in unlocking Nigeria’s hidden mineral wealth.
The statement noted that Hidden Riches seeks to spotlight the transformative potential of solid minerals as a critical driver for sustainable economic growth and resource management.
Minister Alake emphasized that the series plays a significant role in showcasing the mining sector as a catalyst for economic change in Nigeria.
“Hidden Riches aligns with our vision to diversify Nigeria’s economy as part of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Through its powerful narrative, it highlights the potential within the solid minerals sector and encourages public participation in creating a sustainable future,” Alake said.
The statement also invited the public to engage in discussions about the series on social media platforms using the hashtag #HiddenRichesSeries.
