FIFA has announced that Afrobeats star David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, will be performing at the Los Angeles stop of the 2026 World Cup countdown concert series.
The event is scheduled for June 10 and the LA concert would feature Diplo’s Major Lazer alongside Davido.
“Los Angeles will play host to a high-energy celebration, featuring Diplo’s Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football and culture,” FIFA said.
The event is part of a synchronised live concert series taking place across the three host nations — Canada, Mexico, and the United States, as part of the lead-up to the global tournament.
The show is scheduled to take place at the Crypto.com Arena.
According to FIFA, the concert will feature live performances connecting all three host countries, with acts from Mexico City and Toronto being streamed as part of the experience.
The announcement comes weeks after it was revealed that another Afrobeats star, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, will be performing at the World Cup opening ceremony.
Rema is set to perform alongside American rapper Future, Katy Perry, BAnitta, South African sensation Tyla and LISA.
Last month, Colombian singer Shakira announced Dai Dai as the official theme song for the three-nation World Cup. The song features Grammy-winning Nigerian artiste Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off on June 11, with the opening match at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
