Tragedy struck aboard an Arik Air Owerri-Lagos flight on Wednesday when a passenger whose name was given as Albert Nnadi, was found dead on arrival at the Murtala Muhammed Domestic Airport Terminal One, Lagos, when passengers were disembarking from the plane.
Mr Ola Adebanji, Arik Air Communications Manager, who confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Lagos, said the late Nnadi had started showing signs of uneasiness midway into the flight.
According to the statement, the 57-year-old man was accompanied by one of his relatives, Damien Nwachkwu.
The deceased was said to be traveling to Lagos to seek medical assistance on obesity before he gave up the ghost mid-way in the flight.
Adebanji said the body of the man had been deposited in the mortuary by the Police, while investigation into the immediate cause of death was ongoing.
