He, however, declined comments when he departed from the President’s office and made to exit the seat of government at about 6:40pm. The governor had arrived the Presidential Villa at about 5:35pm and proceeded straight to the President’s office. The last time he visited the Villa, Fubara was with a large delegation of loyalists and other stakeholders from Rivers State. The occasion was the peace meeting brokered by the President to resolve the lingering feud with his estranged political godfather and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. Although the agenda of his visit was not made public, sources say it may not be unconnected with the feud between the governor and the FCT minister over control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structure in the state. The governor resisted prodding from reporters, as he departed without comments. 48 mins ago Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, yesterday, met with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja. 50 mins ago Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Dele Alake, yesterday, rallied the support of the international community for local value addition in the mining sector, asserting that it was critical for the development of the mining industry and Africa’s economy. 50 mins ago Federal Government is planning to introduce new policy to the transport sector to ensure full compliance in the use of vehicle safety kits by motorists, the Minister of Transportation, Saidu Alkali, has said. 51 mins ago President of, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Prof. Cyril Usifoh, has said locally manufactured paracetamol brands meet standards set by the British Pharmacopoeia (BP) and the World Health Organisation (WHO). 51 mins ago Former presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, has said he reluctantly accepted to serve as media adviser to the immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari. 52 mins ago Lagos State Government, yesterday, expressed its determination to empower 3,000 of the state’s workforce with the right skills to excel in their respective roles. 52 mins ago ODU’A Investment Company Limited has announced the retirement of its Group Managing Director (GMD)/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Adewale Raji and the appointment of Abdulrahman Yinusa as the successor effective June 1, 2024. 52 mins ago The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has called on the Federal Government to ensure proper coordination of intelligence gathering mechanisms aimed at achieving a sole purpose of economic growth and national security. 52 mins ago Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has promised to revitalise cocoa production in the state with a view to boosting its economy. 52 mins ago A pressure group group, Ondo Redemption Front (ORF), yesterday, said that imposition of candidates on Ondo State people would not be allowed ahead of the governorship election in the state.
