In the two-minute nineteen-second clip, Kollington thanked God, the hospital management, and others for helping him recover. He revealed that his health had deteriorated to the point where he could have died, but the medical practitioners at the hospital saved his life. Kollington used the video to reassure the public that he is alive and well. He acknowledged the efforts of LASUTH (Lagos State University Teaching Hospital), emphasizing its vital role in his recovery. Speaking directly, he said, “A lot of people thought I was dead. But LASUTH, they are kings (in terms of treatment). I hail their efforts; you really tried. I thank our Governor, Olusola Babajide Sanwo-Olu. I appreciate your support.” Kollington, born in August 1949, originally from Ilota, Kwara State, dominated the Fuji music scene alongside his late colleague, Ayinde Barrister.
