Chijioke Okezuonu Nnanna, the groom whose 14 wedding guests were killed by operatives of the Ebubeagu Security outfit in Imo State, on Thursday, 21 July, has cried out for justice.
According to Punch, in a video posted on social media, Chijioke lamented about the killing of his brothers and how it has affected his life and family.
He said, “I stand on truth and anywhere you take this matter, I will stick to the truth. These are my brothers, if there is any assistance you can render please do not hesitate to do so because I am tired.
“I am now ready for death, I am frustrated and my spirit is weak, it would have been better that I died than my brothers who accompanied me to get married to have been killed.
“Because wherever I would have been, I would have been happy. I am not happy because none of them who accompanied me to my inlaw’s place came back alive.
“I have not eaten anything since Sunday, I have been thinking, if there is any assistance you can give for justice to prevail please do not hesitate to do so for myself and for my family.
“Imo people, Nigerian people please help me, I have been downcasted since this incident took place.
“The Ebubeagu operatives have taken away my destiny, they have taken away my joy since the incident took place.
“My inlaw has been suffering from a stroke since Sunday, they destroyed his place and he has been wearing the same cloth ever since.
“Everything I used for the marriage rites was set ablaze, they burnt the man’s house and destroyed every vehicle they saw on the premises, all my brothers they killed, they took their phones, money, and necklaces.
“Nigerians please come to my rescue I have been crying, I have no other hope, please help me,” he added.
