Singer Harrison Okiri, popularly known as Harrysong, on Thursday, January 29, denied allegations of harassment made by his estranged wife, Alexer Perez Gopa.
His response followed her announcement that she was relinquishing custody of their children due to his persistent interference and harassment since their separation.
In a statement shared via his instagram story, Harrysong denied claims that he prevented her from accessing their children, emphasizing that custody decisions were made for reasons he could not disclose publicly.
“I have chosen restraint to protect the mother of my children, most importantly, our kids, because what’s said online lives forever.
“I previously made the mistake of speaking out of emotions and learnt the hard way.
“I never said she couldn’t have access to them; them being in my custody is a decision made for reasons I can’t put out on the internet,” he said.
He stated that he has remained an active and present father, providing for their children even while they were in her care.
Harrysong also expressed concern over the hurtful narrative being shared online, suggesting that the public back-and-forth risks damaging the very career that provides for the children’s upbringing.
He added that he would refrain from engaging in public back-and-forth to avoid harming his children’s future, as his focus remains on their well-being.
