Barely ten days after nine ministers were relieved of their positions as members of the Federal Executive Council, President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday sacked two of his Special Advisers.
The sacked Special Advisers are Senator Joy Emordi and Dr.Tunji Olagunju, Special Advisers on National Assembly Matters and New Partnership for Africa\s Development (NEPAD) respectively. Their sack was announced via a statement issued by Dr Reuben Abati, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.
The statement reads in part: “the President thanks Mrs Emordi and Dr Olagunju for their services and wishes them success in their future endeavours.” While Olagunju had occupied his position since 2007, Mrs Emordi became a presidential aide two years ago. Their sack takes immediate effect.
