A shuttle bus, on Wednesday morning, May 18, was attacked by Fulani herdsmen along Okigwe-Uturu Road, Abia state, which is a few metres away from the state’s university.
It was confirmed that the shuttle bus driver was killed on the spot, and many passengers were abducted, The Punch reports.
This comes two days after seven students of Abia State University (ABSU) were kidnapped along the same route.
Students of ABSU are being kidnapped on a daily basis on that route by clearly identified Fulani Herdsmen, according to a source.
The source stated, “Lecturers and students are being kidnapped almost everyday along that road and both Abia and Imo State Governments have done nothing.
“If your child is in Abia State University (ABSU), he or she is no longer safe. The government are primarily concerned about party primaries for now.”
