World record holder, Hilda Baci on Thursday August 20, slammed singer, Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi aka Seyi Vibez with a defamatory lawsuit after he made comments about her and her business, amid the ongoing royalty dispute involving her partner, Damilola Akinwunmi aka Dapper.
Dapper is the founder and CEO of Dapper Music, which is part of the Dapper Group. He has been instrumental in discovering and promoting various artists, including Dotman, Omah Lay, Seyi Vibez, Shallipopi amongst several others. He has played a crucial role in shaping the music landscape in Nigeria.
But Dapper and Seyi Vibez had a fallout following allegations involving over N1 billion in missing funds. The singer claimed that he avoided financial losses by leaving Dapper Music label early, while also alleging that spiritual manipulation was used against him during his time with the record company.
The singer, while making allegations about Dapper, took a swipe at Hilda Baci, claiming that food from her restaurant offered him by Dapper almost killed him. He also alleged that the missing funds were used to fund Hilda’s Brazilian Butt Lift.
Hilda has now slammed him with a libel and defamation lawsuit. Her lawyers have issued Seyi Vibez a formal letter to remove the defamatory posts and issue an apology.
“In light of the foregoing, we hereby demand that upon receipt of this letter, you are immediately; remove and permanently delete the above referenced publications together with any other statement, post, comment, image, video and repost. Issue a clear and unequivocal public apology and retraction in respect of the offending publications, to be published prominently and contemporaneously across all your social media accounts. Within three days of your receipt of this letter, we further demand that you provide a written undertaking confirming that you shall henceforth cease and desist from publishing, communicating any defamatory content concerning our client,” a letter from her lawyer read.
Below are what Hilda Baci’s lawyers are demanding:
* Immediately remove and permanently delete the publications in question and related content.
* Ensure that the alleged defamatory material is not reposted, shared or circulated through any account or platform under his control.
* Issue a clear and unequivocal public apology and retraction across his social media platforms, including X.
* Call on his followers, fans and others who have allegedly engaged in harassment of Hilda Baci to immediately cease such conduct.
* Provide a written undertaking within three days confirming that he will cease and desist from publishing, repeating, reposting or circulating any defamatory or unlawful statements concerning their client.
The lawyers warned that failure, refusal or neglect to comply with the demands within the stipulated timeframe could result in Hilda Baci taking further legal steps to enforce her rights.
