Nollywood actress Regina Daniels’ estranged husband, Ned Nwoko, has revealed that he had to carry her unconscious to the hospital three times following drug overdose, defending his decision to have her undergo rehabilitation.
He stressed that the move was aimed at ensuring Regina is in the right state of mind to care for their two children.
Ned claimed that her previously calm demeanor had changed over recent months, with violent and destructive behaviour, and recurring health crises becoming evident.
“I want her alive and healthy, not just for me, but for our children.
“We have two young kids together, and they cannot fight for themselves, so I’m going to fight for them by safeguarding their mother,” he said.
He recounted instances in which he had to carry Regina to Nizamiye hospital after she suffered drug overdose.
“Many people have died of drug overdose, and if anything happens to her now, what will I tell her children tomorrow?
“I have lived with this problem for eight months, and on three occasions, I had to carry her unconscious to the hospital, you can verify it,” he added.
According to Ned, rehabilitation would ensure Regina completes treatment in a sane and healthy environment and prevent her from accessing drugs.
He presented toxicology results, insisting that anyone discouraging her from proper medical care was her real enemy and that of her children.
He further alleged that Regina’s close friends and family, including her brother Sammy, were enabling her drug use.
“Her close relations and friends that I trusted around her are the ones exploiting her resources to supply her with drugs, leaving her addicted.
“Each time progress was made, they would undo it by smuggling in the same drugs she was fighting to give up,” he said
Ned criticized a recent social media post by her brother alleging that his son died from a drug overdose in the UK.
He described it as an inhuman attack on the dead and stating that autopsy results did not indicate drug-related complications as the cause of death.
He urged Regina’s family to cooperate in her recovery, adding that he was willing to fund toxicology tests of her choice to validate the reports.
“If they really want to prove me wrong, let them arrange for her to visit any toxicologist of their choice, I will pay,” he said.
