Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has revealed why she left Islam and embraced Christianity, saying the decision followed what she described as a miraculous recovery from a mysterious illness that left her bedridden for nearly nine years.
The actress said that after years of battling the illness and surviving what she described as several near-death experiences, she became convinced that God had given her another chance at life, inspiring her to dedicate herself to serving Jesus Christ.
According to Halima, her recovery was more than a return to good health, describing it as a spiritual transformation that led her to publicly declare her Christian faith and share her testimony.
“I’m a brand new person now. I have given my life to Christ. I want to serve God because He has helped me. I almost died.
“They almost killed me. This is not about movies; this is about restoration and testimony. Halima Abubakar is back, bigger and better.
“Right now, I’m ready to serve God because He wants me to. He has delivered me, so I need to serve Him and preach His gospel to the people,” she said.
The actress also disclosed that she plans to publicly share a detailed account of her recovery, claiming that God used Queen Belemzy Ministries to restore her health after years of illness.
Her announcement has drawn reactions from fans and colleagues, many of whom congratulated her and wished her well as she begins what she described as a new chapter centred on faith, healing and restoration.
