The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Tunji Disu, on Tuesday, March 24, ordered the redeployment of 37 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to strategic commands nationwide.
This strategic overhaul is designed to strengthen the leadership capacity of the Nigeria police force and enhance operational efficiency across its various formations.
According to a statement issued by the force’s spokesperson, Anthony Placid, the reshuffle aligns with the IGP’s commitment to an effective command structure and improved service delivery nationwide.
The redeployment includes the posting of CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya to Jigawa state command, CP Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola to Oyo state command, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi to Delta state command, CP Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun state command, and CP Michael Adegoroye Falade to Ekiti state command.
It also includes the redeployment of CP Yakubu Useni Dankaro to the Adamawa state command, CP Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command, CP Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai to the Lagos state command, and CP Morkwap S. Dongshal to the Taraba state command.
Also redeployed were CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara state command, CP Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina state command, and CP Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto state command.
Several senior officers were also deployed to the force headquarters in Abuja and other specialised units.
CP Betty Enekpen Otimenyin has been deployed to the welfare department at force headquarters, CP Aina Adesola to the training department, CP Abbas Sule to the special protection unit, and CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue to the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) Abuja.
CP Mnwadiogbu Cletus as deputy commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), CP Danjuma I. Yahaya to general investigation at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) annex in Kaduna, and CP Sheik M. Danko to the FCID annex in Lagos.
Additional appointments include CP Moses Ashu Otta to Special Weapons Tactics (SWAT) Abuja, CP Akan Ezima as director of the NPF National Cybercrime Centre (NCCC) Abuja, CP Sarah Ehindero to administration at FCID Abuja, and CP Edwin Ogbegbghagha as provost at force headquarters.
CP Preye R. Egbe to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Abuja, CP Adebisi Bola Lateef to Master Printing Lagos, CP Bolou O. Etete to community policing, research and planning at force headquarters, and CP Ojugbele E. Adebola to general investigation at FCID Alagbon, Lagos.
Further postings include CP Abdulrahim A. Shuaibu to the eastern Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), CP Fidelis N. Ogarabe to INTERPOL annex Lagos, CP Theodore C. Obasi as deputy commandant of the Police College Ikeja, and CP Eloho E. Okpoziakpo to the special fraud unit in Ikoyi, Lagos.
CP Kayode Uthman Magaji to K9 at the department of operations, force headquarters, CP Markus Ishaku Basiran to courses at POLAC, CP Mohammed Babakura to administration at the department of operations, force headquarters, CP Silas Bamidele Aremu to safer highway at the department of operations.
It also includes CP Magaji Ismaila to community safety and crime prevention at the department of operations, and CP Rebecca Uchenna Okereke as director of music at force headquarters.
Disu urged all deployed officers to leverage their wealth of experience in their respective assignments, emphasizing the importance of upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and service delivery in the discharge of their duties.
