They also pledged to support the government in its development stride and expose criminal elements in the society. Speaking during a fundraising event in the community, President of the association, Juliet Ikegbula, said the call was necessary to enable them to play complementary roles in development of the area. Ikegbula, who disclosed that they had been using EDA to help humanity, commended persons who have helped the association to grow. She added: “We need the assistance of the government and philanthropic people to enable us to grow, and bring peace, unity and oneness among the men, women and youths in the community.” A former president of a Nigerian group in the United States of America, Granville Osuji, said EDA has brought honour to the state and Nigeria.
