The operatives of the Versova police in Mumbai, India have arrested a 34 year old Nigerian woman identified as Yenna Christina Idowu for possessing cocaine valued at over N254 million which is approximately Rs1.42 crore.
The chief of Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Nawal Bajaj, while confirming this stated that the incident occurred on Monday, June 30, when his team observed Yenna, a resident of Noida, New Delhi, acting suspiciously in Old MHADA, Andheri West, around 3 am.
He noted that Yenna, who is originally from Ondo state, Nigeria, was found with 30 capsules containing 418 grams of cocaine in her bag after the search.
Bajaj further disclosed that a formal complaint has been filed against her under various provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
He finally stated that investigations are currently ongoing to identify the drug network, determine who she intended to deliver the drugs to, and trace their origin.
