The International Criminal Court has issued a warrant of arrest for Libya’s embattled leader, Colonel Muammar Ghadaffi for crimes against humanity.
Ghadaffi and his son, Saif al Islam are wanted for the killing, injuring, arrest and imprisonment of hundreds of civilians during the first twelve days of the uprising that has continued to shake the country.
Justice Sanji Monageng who presided during the sitting said there were reasonable grounds to believe that Ghadaffi and his son were both “criminally responsible as direct perpetrators” for the murder and persecution of civilians.
