. Appoints Tukur as Railway Corporation Chairman
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has nominated former National Security Adviser, Aliyu Gusau; Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Ghana, Musiliu Obanikoro; and former Adamawa State governor, Boni Haruna, as ministers.
Their names appeared on the list of 12 ministerial nominees sent to the Senate for confirmation.
Other nominees include current Nigerian Ambassador to China, Aminu Wali (from Kano State), and former leader of the House of Representatives, Mohammed Wakil from Borno.
With his military experience as well as the one he garnered as Security Adviser, it is believed that Gusau will fill the position of Defence Minister, a position that was made vacant after the sack of Dr Haliru Bello Mohammed almost 2 years ago.
Manwhile, following his resignation barely a week ago, the former Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has been appointed as the Chairman of the Nigerian Railway Corporation.
