About four criminals have been eliminated and five others have been arrested due to a raid on their hideout in Ezioha, Ezia local government area (LGA) of Imo State by the joint task force (JTF) comprising the Nigeria Police Force, Armed Forces, Department of State Security Service(DSS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
This was revealed via a statement by the state’s police spokesperson, Henry Okoye on Sunday, December 15.
He noted that several firearms and other incriminating items were also seized from the criminals during the raid.
In a statement, Okoye revealed that, “The operation was made successful by the combined security outfits in their renewed effort to improve security and combat insurgency.”
He noted that the JTF operating under the banner of ‘Operation Udoka,’ had intensified their efforts to dismantle criminal networks within the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, along with other service commanders, carried out an assessment of the ongoing operation in Ezioha, Eziama Autonomous Community.
The operation focused on dismantling criminal hideouts linked to violent attacks and kidnappings in the area.
According to the police spokesperson, the operation involved an intense gun battle with the criminals.
He revealed that eight motorcycles, various dangerous weapons, explosive devices and communication equipment connected to the suspects were seized during the raid.
