Juju singer, Saint Janet is dead

    Popular Juju singer Iyun Janet Oluwatoyosi Ajilore, also known as Saint Janet, is dead. She died in the early hours of Sunday, August 2, after a brief illness, according to reports.

    Saint Janet was known for her explicit lyrics and energetic stage performances, which earned her a loyal fan base despite repeated controversies.

    News of her death has thrown fans and colleagues into mourning, with many taking to social media to pay tribute to the late musician.

    She rose to prominence with her controversial song Faaji Plus, whose explicit lyrics led to multiple bans by the Performing  Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN) and the Lagos state house of assembly.

    Despite the restrictions, Saint Janet remained active on the entertainment scene, performing at private events and building a reputation for her satire, humour, socially unfiltered commentaries and electrifying stage performances.
