The victims include six women, a minor, three young men, and a reverend of the  Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) church.

The community is appealing urgently for their safe and immediate release as they remain in captivity.

The attack reportedly occurred on the night of 11 November 2025, highlighting the persistent security challenges faced by rural communities in northern Nigeria.

Amnesty International condemned the incident, describing it as another indication of the stunning failure of the Nigerian authorities to protect lives and ensure accountability for all human rights crimes.

The international human rights group emphasized that it has been documenting the alarming escalation in attacks and abductions in several states in north west and north central Nigeria.
