Kari Toriola, the chief executive officer (CEO) of MTN Nigeria has gotten to the top of the list of highest paid CEO’s in Nigeria.
Others following him are Dangote Cement – Michel Puchercos – N736 million, Guinness Nigeria – Baker Magunda – N505 million, Seplat energy- Roger Brown – N500 million, Lafarge Africa – Khaled El Dokani – N452 million and Guaranty Trust Bank – Segun Agbaje – N445 million.
Others include; Julius Berger – Lars Richter – N417 million, Nigerian Breweries – Hans Essaadi – N319 million, Zenith Bank – Ebenezer Onyeagwu – N285 million and Nestle Nigeria – Wassim Elhusseini – N266 million
Karl earned a total of of N850 million in 2022 working as the CEO of MTN Nigeria.
Karl Toriola is originally from Osun state, Nigeria and his father is Oba Joseph Toriola the current ruler of Modekeke in Osun state.
He is married to his university sweet heart, Ronke Omisakin-Toriola who he considers to be strong-willed, independent-minded and he’s sure she’ll do great things in her life according to her desires and ambitions.
Their marriage is blessed with one daughter, Damilola Toriola who he refers to as his most treasured gift and his greatest achievement, of whom he is so proud.
He has worked for Erickson, vmobile as a seasoned communication engineer.
To those who mock employees especially motivational speakers spreeing rubbish about the ideology that a person can’t get rich while working for another person should note that Karl is an employee, in a paid employment and his salary dwarfs what many businesses make yearly in Nigeria.
However, Karl enjoys fishing and likens himself to be an avid fisherman. That’s his hobby.
Karl is very familiar with Nigeria’s coastal waters and understands the impact of climate change on fishing.
He explained that he doesn’t play golf,and doesn’t do much else.
He loves traveling to nice exotic destinations.
Toriola’s love for his company also spread to his colleagues. Everyone addressed him as Karl and he equally amicably relates with them.
It’s impressive to note that as wealthy as he is, he still shows humility and tries to relate with people.
