The Kogi state house of assembly has suspended nine lawmakers and five local government council chairmen.

Amongst those suspended were the majority leader of the house, Muhammed Bajeh, and the Lokoja council chairman, Muhammed Dan-Asebe.

Meanwhile, sources within the state house of assembly, while speaking on Thursday, March 23, noted that the lawmakers were suspended for misappropriation of public funds.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that the state house of assembly will be suspending some of its members.

The Kogi state house of assembly, in 2022, removed its deputy speaker and three other principal officers.

It also suspended the chairman of Okene local government area.
